They aim at reducing misuse and abuse possibilities by chewing, snorting or inhaling.
This Technology is of special interest for Products with a potential abuse profile such as opiates, narcotics, stimulants, sedatives, antidepressants.

Flashtab® tablets dissolve rapidly into the mouth, can be taken without water and combine an agreeable taste.
This formulation facilitates drug doses, improves comfort of use for patients and enables to respect time of administration under any circumstances.
Recently, Ethypharm has strengthened its platform by developing bi-layer Flashtab® tablets that allows combination of non compatible drugs. Prolonged release ODT are also under development.

AUGMENTATION OF BIOAVAILABILITY

They permit direct penetration of the drug into the general circulation, avoiding the first pass hepatic effect.
